The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans Welcomes the Council of Korean Americans as a New Member

Washington, D.C.— Following a vote by the general membership, the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA) is pleased to welcome the newest member of the coalition, the Council of Korean Americans (CKA).

CKA was founded in 2011, beginning as an all-volunteer organization of Korean American leaders based in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, DC. Now with full-time staff, and hundreds of members, CKA boasts a global network that aims to advance the national voice and influence of Korean Americans through collaboration and leadership development.

CKA Executive Director, Abraham Kim stated:

“The Council of Korean Americans is honored to work with the distinguished group of Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) organizations at NCAPA. In this current environment, it is more important than ever that AAPI leaders collaborate together and support each other to ensure our people are protected, our voices are heard and our communities are strengthened. We look forward to pushing the AAPI community forward with NCAPA.”  

NCAPA National Director, Gregg Orton added:

“Given the significant challenges we are all facing when confronting COVID-19, the Council of Korean Americans is a welcome addition to the NCAPA-family. We are all in this together; and when we emerge from these times stronger for it, it will be because of moments like this when Asian American Pacific Islanders commit to stand for each other. CKA’s reputation and leadership are second to none, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with them moving forward.”
