NCAPA Applauds Defeat of ACA Repeal Efforts in Senate

The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA) applauds the votes of 51 Senators to finally defeat efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA). NCAPA condemns the highly unusual and secretive process by which the Senate considered ACA repeal and calls upon Congress to return to regular, bipartisan order to strengthen and stabilize the ACA insurance marketplaces and to ensure that the 30 million Americans who have benefited from the law, including 2 million Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AA and NHPIs), will continue to enjoy access to competitive, affordable, and comprehensive health insurance plans. NCAPA and its members also call upon the President to halt any and all efforts to undermine the ACA and to ensure that ACA implementation continues to be robust and successful under his Administration.
