NCAPA celebrates passage of Congressional Gold Medal for Filipino World War II veterans: NCAPA celebrated the passage of the Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act. The bill recognizes the more than 250,000 Filipino and Filipino American men and women who served the United States during World War II, and is now headed to President Obama for his signature.

NCAPA members participate in #GivingTuesday: As organizations focus on year-end giving, many NCAPA members participated in this week’s annual Giving Tuesday, and Southeast Asia Resource Action Center’s (SEARAC) Mari Quenemoen held a birthday fundraiser to support Southeast Asian American refugee communities. The full list of NCAPA members participating in #GivingTuesday this year is available on the NCAPA website as you consider your holiday giving.

Adoptee Citizenship Act week of action: The National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC), an NCAPA member, and the Adoptee Rights Campaign (ARC) are participating in a week of action for the Adoptee Citizenship Act, which would grant U.S. citizenship to adoptees regardless of when they were adopted. Today, NAKASEC and ARC will deliver 35,000 signed postcards expressing support from constituents, representing the 35,000 adoptees without citizenship who are at risk of deportation.

NAPAWF announces interim director: Sung Yeon Choimorrow will serve as the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum interim director beginning Jan. 1, 2017. Learn more about her and NAPAWF’s director search.
