NCAPA health committee holds webinar on mental health: Yesterday, Dr. Kevin Nadal, the incoming president of the Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA), presented a webinar on mental health. If you missed it, stay tuned for the video to be posted on the NCAPA website.

NCAPA endorses EACH Woman Act: NCAPA supports the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH Woman) Act to ensure health coverage for abortion for every woman regardless of how she is insured or where she lives. Read our statement.

APALA convention: The Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance held their 13th biennial convention last week in San Diego, with the theme “organizing in solidarity.” Monica Thammarath, who serves as a co-chair for two NCAPA policy committees, was honored with the Art Takei Award. Monica was also appointed as the First Vice President of the APALA Executive Board

Remembering Julian Bond: Civil rights leader Julian Bond passed away last Saturday at the age of 75. OCA issued a statement and many member organizations honored Bond and offered condolences.  

AAJC blog on birthright citizenship: AAJC’s Ameesha Sampat wrote a blog on how the right to citizenship for children born in the U.S. is being challenged and why this is of importance to AAPIs
