NCAPA Deeply Disappointed by Passage of Anti-Syrian and Anti-Iraqi Refugee Legislation

NCAPA is deeply disappointed by today's vote in the House of Representatives to pass the so-called American SAFE Act (H.R. 4038), which would block all refugees from Syria and Iraq from being resettled into the United States. We call on the Senate to defeat this measure and instead work to ensure that our nation upholds our American values by welcoming refugees with respect and dignity, and not turning our backs on those fleeing persecution.
